Why Cardiff Gluten-Free Festival?
For years, people across Wales have travelled elsewhere in the UK, often into England, to attend dedicated gluten-free festivals, discover new products and connect with others living gluten free.
We believed Wales deserved a festival of its own.
Created to celebrate everything the gluten-free community has to offer, Cardiff Gluten-Free Festival brings together carefully selected food and drink businesses, inspiring speakers, live music, family-friendly experiences and opportunities to connect with people who truly understand life without gluten.
Our Story
The idea for Cardiff Gluten-Free Festival began after attending a gluten-free festival in Bristol. Seeing hundreds of people brought together through safe food, independent businesses and shared experiences sparked one simple question:
Why doesn't Wales have its own gluten-free festival?
To find out whether others felt the same, we launched a community survey asking what people would want from a dedicated gluten-free festival in Wales.
The response exceeded all expectations. Hundreds of people shared their ideas, encouragement and feedback, confirming there was a genuine appetite for a festival built around the needs of the gluten-free community.
From there, the idea quickly gathered momentum. Businesses from across Wales and the wider UK applied to take part, content creators helped spread the word, community organisations offered their support, and people from all walks of life came forward to share their experiences on the festival stage.
What began as one simple question became the first step towards creating Wales' dedicated gluten-free festival.
Built by the Community
Although Cardiff Gluten-Free Festival began as one person's idea, it has been shaped by the support of an incredible community.
People from all walks of life have come forward to share their experiences on the festival stage, creating conversations that educate, inspire and reassure others living gluten free.
Businesses from across Wales and the wider UK have embraced the festival, bringing their passion, expertise and products to create a unique experience for visitors. Content creators, community organisations and organisers of other gluten-free festivals have generously shared advice, encouragement and support throughout the journey.
Behind the scenes, friends, family and supporters have offered their time, encouragement and expertise whenever it has been needed, helping to turn an idea into a reality.

Our Vision
The response to Cardiff Gluten-Free Festival has exceeded every expectation. More than 2,000 people joined the mailing list, businesses from across Wales and the wider UK applied to take part, and tickets sold out months before the festival opened its doors.
What began as an idea has grown into something much bigger than a single event. It has become a celebration of safe food, independent businesses and a community that continues to inspire us every day.
But this is only the beginning.
Our vision is to create more than an annual festival. Through future festivals, community events, meaningful partnerships and opportunities for people to share their experiences, we hope to continue bringing people together, supporting independent businesses and celebrating gluten-free living for years to come.
